THE ANGOLA EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE FUND STARTS AN EFFORT TO PROVIDE BOOK DONATIONS FOR THE CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF ANGOLA

The goal is to have regular book shipments to the University

BOSTON, MA - The Angola Educational Assistance Fund (AEAF) has started a major effort to collect books to be shipped to the Catholic University of Angola.  Contacts will be made with universities and non-profit organizations that are willing to donate books and other resources to the library of the Catholic University.

AEAF is working with the Catholic University on the bibliography.  Most likely, this will include books on economics, international law, English, computer science, and general knowledge.  In addition, a number of books for K-12 education is also considered.

The AEAF contacted the Sabre Foundation to organize the first shipment on a 20' container to be shipped to Angola by the end of February 1999.  The material will be available and catalogued at Citizens Energy in a storage area located in the East Building of Russia Wharf in Boston.

"This project represents a natural activity for us in helping create the library at the Catholic University of Angola", said AEAF President Filippo Nardin. "We look forward to make this an on-going project and to work with the Sabre Foundation and other non-profit organization to achieve this goal".

If organizations or individuals are interested in donating books or related material to the Catholic University of Angola, they can contact directly the Angola Educational Assistance Fund at (617) 951-0433, or send a fax to (603) 737-0004.
